I have been teaching in Maryland since 2013. When I am not teaching you can find me crafting or shopping. I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.
I was born in Newark, Delaware. The love for writing started in high school. I started keeping journals and writing short poems. The short poems grew and I started writing my own short novels.
After high school I attended University of Delaware and majored in Elementary Education with a certification in Special Education. During my college years I became too busy and did not continue to write.
Never in a million years, though, would I have thought about becoming a children’s book author. This seed wasn’t planted until I became a teacher and realized the lack of diversity in classroom libraries. The interests grew and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
In 2018, I graduated with my Masters in School Counseling from Wilmington University. While completing my internship I was able to realize the lack of empathy and kindness among students. The spring of 2018 was when I decided to create a kindness club at my school. This was one of the best ideas I ever had.
I was able to take my classroom experience and education and turn it into something magnificent. I take great pride in spreading kindness in my community and within the classroom.
